I am creating art that connects people with nature and wild environments, and inspires people to observe, understand and appreciate Mother Earth’s gifts we all take for granted.
My mission is to interpret stories through sculpture that honor the past, celebrate the present and inspire the future.

My art is simply expressions of things I admire and strive to understand. Even if just to connect with the hair pattern of a wildlife subject, capture a reflection on the water, or portray a moment of life in motion, it is my story of the magic I see in the world.

My art is simply expressions of things I admire and strive to understand. Even if just to connect with the hair pattern of a wildlife subject, capture a reflection on the water, or portray a moment of life in motion, it is my story of the magic I see in the world.
I have always been drawn to raw nature and wild places. As a naturalist and a forester, I have fostered my passions for botany and ecology. I am especially fascinated by pollination vectors, the predator/prey relationships of mammals, and the ecosystem-balancing mechanisms driven by the keystone species. Critical habitat conservation for sensitive, threatened and endangered wildlife is important to me.
I am also inspired by ancient traditions and beliefs, the vast array of unique cultures in the world, and the pioneer exploration and settlement of the American West. Throughout my life, I have been influenced by National Parks, Monuments and Recreation Areas, wildlife preserves and refuges, Idaho history, Native American culture, old west museums, cultural interpretive centers, and wildlife and western art.
Respect for Mother Earth is important to me. When I think about the world, I am concerned about water shortages, fossil fuel consumption, the vulnerable power grid, and the irreversible effects of climate change and global warming. My perspectives have shifted over time, and as I learn more about practical remedies for these threats and ways to adapt, I strive to conserve water, reduce my use of plastics and other petroleum-based products, support clean energy solutions, and practice a simple, self-sustainable, light-on-the-ground-lifestyle that minimizes my impact on Mother Earth’s precious natural resources.

I get satisfaction from brainstorming, creating, and displaying my art when it promotes learning, evokes emotions and keeps my memories alive. My hope is that others can relate to my art in their own way and experience a similar sense of beauty, or feel connected to something inspiring. Through the building of meaningful relationships wit
I get satisfaction from brainstorming, creating, and displaying my art when it promotes learning, evokes emotions and keeps my memories alive. My hope is that others can relate to my art in their own way and experience a similar sense of beauty, or feel connected to something inspiring. Through the building of meaningful relationships with my customers, my artwork offers something special, like a window to a world they admire, respect, once knew, or hope to know someday. This is the footprint I want to leave behind.
My vision is to continue creating authentic, original art that fosters authentic conversations about environmental conservation, encourages deep respect for natural ecosystems, and celebrates our connectedness to Mother Earth and to each other.
