"Bengal Pride" Bronze Tiger Sculpture Photo Gallery

Shayne did a mock-up of the tiger sculpture to ensure the pose met the approval of the donors.  This is the clay model in rough form. 

 We traveled to Portland, OR, to have the 15" maquette scanned and printed as a 45" foam core.  There were few details and Shayne began covering the entire core with clay so he could begin sculpting the tiger in detail. 

Once the foam core was covered with clay, Shayne added the details including the stripes.  Each stripe is slightly inset to reflect the patina differently. 

It was -4 degrees in Deary the morning we took the 45" model to Portland for the final scan.  Here is Shayne unloading the model and checking for damage after the 7-hour trip.  It was 28 degrees F in Portland,  Oregon, that morning!  

Here's what it looks like in a computer generated model.  The final monument size is 9 feet long from head to base of tail.    The sculpture was 3D printed in 57 acrylic panels and transported to the foundry for final casting and assembly in bronze.  Every step of the creation requires an artistic touch.  Shayne is very grateful for the amazing staff at both foundries.
